Today I took Brody to Tiffany's house for a Pampered Chef party. They have an unbelievable new house! It's so beautiful. Brody got lots of attention and compliments from the guests. He has figured out how to put his fist in his mouth and suck on it. It takes him a few tries to get the fist in his mouth and has scared himself when he misses (and whacks himself in the face instead!) 2 month doctor appointment on March 4. I can't wait to see how much he weighs...my guess is 11 1/2 lbs.

Brody smiled a real smile for the first time last night! Rudy was singing and talking to him and he opened his mouth in a real wide smile. He did it 5 or 6 times as well as was "talking" to us. He did it again for me today, so I know it was not just gas. So exciting! The soy formula is working on his stomach much much better. I have come down with a cold, so that's not too fun. I am trying to avoid giving it to him at all costs. Check out the more pictures at my online photo album http://lisafabian.myphotoalbum.com

I took Brody for his first walk around the neighborhood in his stroller today. What awesome weather! I hope it stays a little while...He had his baseball hat on, it looked real cute. He's totally tired now though...passed out on the couch. Such a tiring life he has. Haha. He will be 2 months old tomorrow. Time is flying! I swear he's getting bigger everyday. Our main bathroom (and only shower/tub) is being remodeled right now, so that is a challenge with the baby. We have a scary shower in the basement...that might have to be broken in tonight. But it will be worth it when it's finished...going to be beautiful.

Well, baby yoga didn't happen...I could not get organized and get to Naperville by 10am. Pretty bummed. Going to try again this week. Tomorrow begins our bathroom renovations project..I am psyched. Although we are going to have to shower in our scary cold basement for awhile. But it will be worth it! Last night was a fun dinner Hibachi style at Hamada. YUM! Good to see my friends while Brody went to visit with Gramma and Papa J. We switched Brode-Dog to soy formula because he has the nastiest gas and is always fussy from it. It smells weird, but he doesn't seem to know the difference...still chugging away as usual. I guess my baby is now a vegan. Haha he is so hip. The mini-van is awesome! I will have to post some pics of my rocking it after it gets washed up nice. Rudy is promising me a membership to Cardinal Fitness...looking VERY forward to becoming active again and moving toward a healthier life and weight! Went for my post-pardum check up with the Dr and she def layed into me about my weight. She also told me that if I want more kids "I'm not getting any younger." I was shocked to hear that. I consider myself a young mom. I mean I'm one of the first of my friends to have a kid. A little anxious about that...Brody's not even sleeping in a crib yet! But she is old-fashioned...so I'm not going to get upset.

I survived Brody's first nail trim. His nails were sharp and very long...I bit the bullet and clipped them with baby clippers luckily without incident! Thank God! Yesterday we had an outing...lunch with Grandma and Aunt Jan then hit a couple of stores. Brody slept pretty much the whole time...If you didn't think I was nerdy yet, it is now official: I've traded in the the LeeJay (my first car, the Alero) for a mini-van complete with a DVD player in the back in true soccer mom style! Kept the cool license plate so keep an eye out on the roads! Brody holds his head up for long periods of time now. His little digestive system finally seems to be maturing, meaning he's having less trouble in that department. Tomorrow I am going to Baby Yoga with a co-worker and fellow first time mom, Talea and her newborn. I'm not quite sure if I will be doing the yoga or Brody...should be interesting. I'll wear comfy clothes J.I.C. Then Rudy and I go to observe at the day care we are most likely booking for Brody. I finally called work and found out that I return on March 18. Some of you may know that is my wedding anniversary...pretty crappy day to go back to work, right? Oh well. I knew the time would fly by. I've still got a few weeks to get Brody sleeping through the night in his own room, in his crib. Can it be done??? To be continued...

i can't believe brody is 6 weeks old! my time off of work is flying by...very depressing although i found a great babysitter for him here in joliet so at least i know he will be in good hands and he will be with his friend, roman. please excuse my puncuation but i'm holding brody...he's stll having gas issues and screams when i put him down so def doing some one handed typing. went for his 1 month checkup and he was 8 lbs 13 oz, growing very well dr says. he makes a sad face now and sometimes when he cries hard he gets tears. we gave him a bath in his tubby instead of a sponge bath. he def hated that!!! and peed all overme when i took him out of the water. rudy said it was payback. he's alert a lot of the day now, he likes to lay on his back and kick and wave his arms very feverishly usually knocking the pacifier out of his mouth. he's sleeping well at night. he's been to both grandma's houses and met many of his family members and friends. he's been to sams club and jewel and even to dinner at red lobster!! having a blast spending all my time with him.

Brody is almost one month old (on Superbowl Sunday). He weighed 8 lbs at our last Dr's visit. He is eating like a lil piggy and loves to be held. He is starting to hold his head up for a few seconds and also pushes things with his legs. He hates baths or having his clothes removed - I've heard that won't last long with a boy!!! Newborn size clothes are fitting him like a glove, I think he'll be in 0-3 months any day. I'm loving life with my son and don't care that I never do anything else. He's the best thing that ever happened to me. Sorry for the cheesiness.
