I survived Brody's first nail trim. His nails were sharp and very long...I bit the bullet and clipped them with baby clippers luckily without incident! Thank God! Yesterday we had an outing...lunch with Grandma and Aunt Jan then hit a couple of stores. Brody slept pretty much the whole time...If you didn't think I was nerdy yet, it is now official: I've traded in the the LeeJay (my first car, the Alero) for a mini-van complete with a DVD player in the back in true soccer mom style! Kept the cool license plate so keep an eye out on the roads! Brody holds his head up for long periods of time now. His little digestive system finally seems to be maturing, meaning he's having less trouble in that department. Tomorrow I am going to Baby Yoga with a co-worker and fellow first time mom, Talea and her newborn. I'm not quite sure if I will be doing the yoga or Brody...should be interesting. I'll wear comfy clothes J.I.C. Then Rudy and I go to observe at the day care we are most likely booking for Brody. I finally called work and found out that I return on March 18. Some of you may know that is my wedding anniversary...pretty crappy day to go back to work, right? Oh well. I knew the time would fly by. I've still got a few weeks to get Brody sleeping through the night in his own room, in his crib. Can it be done??? To be continued...

i can't believe brody is 6 weeks old! my time off of work is flying by...very depressing although i found a great babysitter for him here in joliet so at least i know he will be in good hands and he will be with his friend, roman. please excuse my puncuation but i'm holding brody...he's stll having gas issues and screams when i put him down so def doing some one handed typing. went for his 1 month checkup and he was 8 lbs 13 oz, growing very well dr says. he makes a sad face now and sometimes when he cries hard he gets tears. we gave him a bath in his tubby instead of a sponge bath. he def hated that!!! and peed all overme when i took him out of the water. rudy said it was payback. he's alert a lot of the day now, he likes to lay on his back and kick and wave his arms very feverishly usually knocking the pacifier out of his mouth. he's sleeping well at night. he's been to both grandma's houses and met many of his family members and friends. he's been to sams club and jewel and even to dinner at red lobster!! having a blast spending all my time with him.

Brody is almost one month old (on Superbowl Sunday). He weighed 8 lbs at our last Dr's visit. He is eating like a lil piggy and loves to be held. He is starting to hold his head up for a few seconds and also pushes things with his legs. He hates baths or having his clothes removed - I've heard that won't last long with a boy!!! Newborn size clothes are fitting him like a glove, I think he'll be in 0-3 months any day. I'm loving life with my son and don't care that I never do anything else. He's the best thing that ever happened to me. Sorry for the cheesiness.

Brody is more than 2 weeks old. On Saturday night he went to his first family party at his Uncle Phil and Aunt Lyndy's house. He got lots of presents including a Glow Worm from family members!!! (didn't know they still made them!!!!!) On Sunday, my Godparents and my cousing Joanne came over to meet Brody. So he was pretty popular this weekend! He is having a hard time going to the bathroom...we think it's the formula. It's so sad because he pushes so hard and his little face gets dark red and nothing comes out. And then he's exhausted and has to take a nap. That's pretty much what is consuming his days right now. I'm hoping it's just an immature digestive system and will be over in a few days. The pediatrician (an Andrew HS grad, BTW) isn't concerned so I'm trying not to freak out about it. But it's definitely keeping him (and ME) up all night. Oh well, he's my full time job right now, so I don't mind working the night shift. Uh oh, he's crying...gotta go!

Today Brody met his Great Granny and Great Grandpapa. They (my Dad's parents) were so excited! Brody was awake during a lot of it, so they got to see his crazy kicking and arm flailing. Good time had by all. Tomorrow, Rudy's kids are coming over to meet the little guy. Last night was much better. He slept from 2am - 10am only waking for a few feedings. The breast pumping is coming along much better too. Finally my milk came in and although I don't have enough yet to feed him exclusively breast milk, it's the majority. Well, it's feeding time again....gotta go. BTW, I'm up for visitors now, so if you'd like to come over and meet Brody, give me a call!

I can't believe that Brody is one week old today! This has been probably the most exciting week of my life! He has already had so many firsts...first vaccination, first doctors appointment, first lunch out with Mom and Dad to Heroes West, first pee in his face (!)....and many many more which I sure only Rudy and I care about!!! He has met both sets of grandparents and is going to meet his great-grandparents on Saturday. Exciting stuff!! Can you totally tell I'm a new mom? These are the new things that I am loving! Brody has been giving us a hard time at night. That's when he likes to be awake! He doesn't cry or scream at night... but around midnight, his eyes fly wide open and he looks around and kicks and waves his arms until between 4-7am. Well, I am exhausted from last night and am going to try and get some rest.
